The Society met its goals to expand its ten-week series of free music lessons to more locations and increase fundraising efforts for lessons, teachers and keyboards for students. A piano lab was created in the Callahan

 Neighborhood Center in Parramore with state-of-the-art electric digital pianos,complete with computerized lesson programs. Recitals are held several times a year to feature student progress.

The pride children and their parents feel in growing piano skills is apparent in the recitals held several times a year where students can show off their progress. 


Lessons are given for ten weeks at a time, with the Society providing the teacher and keyboards for group lessons plus keyboards for students to use for home practice.  Teacher Sylvia Ferguson teaches piano in classes divided by age and ability, using the latest in electronic keyboards and computer-assisted lesson plans
