The Steinway Society Annual Divas fundraiser in September at the Orlando Museum of Art was a great success, bringing in new support for its music education mission. Singer and TV host Sisaundra Lewis starred in “Divas Gala Presents the Sisaundra Show.” Curtis McCloud, a reporter and news anchor at Spectrum News13, was announcer. The event featured a pre-show dinner, music in the lobby by board member Gale Murphy, silent auction and live concert.
The highlight of the event was the intermission presentation by founders Gary and Kathy Grimes auctioning sponsorships for music lessons and various pianos in support of the Society’s mission.
“Thanks and appreciation to the Steinway board for arranging and managing this event, which is so important to our education mission, and to all the sponsors that supported it,” said President Gary Grimes. Lewis is currently host of the Orlando-based ‘The Sisaundra Show’, a nationally-syndicated daytime TV, and AFROJams, a live music performance show on AFRO TV cable.
