The Steinway Society had a successful “Divas and Dudes” gala in September, raising about $30,000 for the non-profit. This was the event’s 9th year. The contributions of the Society were recognized with a Mayor’s Proclamation, presented by Commissioners Regina Hill and Pat Sheehan to founders Gary and Kathy Grimes. Kevin Brassard, Billy Flanigan, Carol Stein, and Hannah Laird, accompanied by the Carol Stein Jazz Band, performed in a showcase of popular music.
Board member Gale Murphy led her group in live music in the lobby during the pre-show reception and buffet. Presenting sponsor was Certified Financial Group. Signature sponsors included: Steinway Piano Galleries; District Commissioners Bakari Burns, Regina Hill, Tony Ortiz and Robert F. Stuart. Thanks to all the Board members and volunteers whose work made the event possible.
